Nursing school here I come...

So...since I officially have accepted my "acceptance" (I know that sounds funny) into nursing school I thought I would post about how excited I am for the HUGE life change! I was in new home sales for five long years, which was an amazing job I have say, but I decided about a year ago that it was not really what I wanted to do the rest of my life. So...after some soul searching I finally found my new calling...nursing. I finished all my pre-req.'s while working full-time and planning our wedding (quite the ordeal), and was finally able to apply for the program in October. HOWEVER, the worst part was knowing that it could be up to 2 years before I got into the program due to the HUGE wait list. :( My next goal became getting a scholarship. After interviewing, and waiting patiently for a few months, I found out in March that I was awarded a full-ride scholarship from Catholic Healthcare and, as a result, was awarded acceptance into the CGCC fall nursing program. It has been a long road, and will continue to be a long road since I will be in school again for at least two years, but I could not be more excited!!! :)

...so, Obi has been shedding all over the place! :( I finally got so annoyed after he ruined my nice clean floors with a new layer of hair in less than a day that I took Ali's idea and got him shaved! Such a great investment! He doesn't look too bald and he seems SO happy that it was totally worth it! :)

Happy Mother's Day!

I know this is one day late, but I figured it was better late than never! :) I wanted to say Happy Mother's Day to my amazing Mom and Mother-In-Law! We were so lucky to be able to spend time with both of them on Mother's Day, and I hope they both had a wonderful day too!

Penguins!

I was lucky enough to get to hold and pet penguins! I actually grew up wanting to be a penguin keeper at Sea World and loved anything to do with Penguins, so I was so excited to meet a few in person! :)

Christy and Ryans Engagement Party!

My Mom and I hosted Christy and Ryans Engagement Party on May 2nd for 60 ppl.! It turned out so wonderful and the weather, which has been wavering between comfortable and hot, was perfect! The party was held outdoor's at my Mom and Mark's house and we served appetizers, Italian food, and dessert (cream puffs, tiramisu, and homemade cupcakes). We also served sangria, wine, and beers...along with non-alcoholic drinks :). Thank you to everyone who came and all those who helped out to make it such a fabulous evening! Congrat's Christy and Ryan...we can't wait for the big day!! :)

Easter!

We had two Easter celebrations this year and got way too much candy...I have every candy dish in my house filled trying to get everyone else to eat it for me! One of the best parts of Easter though was playing egg hunt with my cute cousins... :)

David's Birthday!

My, cute-as-ever, Husband had his big day this last week and we celebrated quite a few times, with quite a few people, but here are the pictures from his party with my side of the family! :) It was a banana theme, because he loves almost anything banana, so I made him a Banana Carmel cake, which I will be putting the recipe for up on my other blog, and my Mom gave him all sorts of cool foods made with banana. We also had his party at one of his favorite restaurants...Joe's BBQ in Gilbert! :)
